Thigh Lift Procedures in New Jersey.

Thigh Lift
Thighplasty/ Thigh Liposcution

The effects of time, gravity and major weight loss can cause the skin of the inner and outer thigh to lose tone. This loss of tone can cause the skin to sag or lose the smooth appearance of an earlier age. In general, the inner thighs are affected earlier than the outer thighs. Along with sagging skin, the thighs can be an area of fat collection. Excessive fat can produce an unpleasant contour. For many individuals, in particular women, the fatty deposits do not respond to weight loss or exercise. Liposuction alone can improve the contour of the thighs when skin tone is good and excessive fat is the primary problem. The thigh lift procedure usually involves both liposuction and the removal of excessive skin from either the inner or outer thigh or both.

You may be a candidate for Thighplasty if you have experienced a loss of skin elasticity of the thigh, hip, or buttocks areas. You may also desire this procedure if your skin in the thigh area is saggy, has an orange peel, flabby and/or dimpled appearance. The procedure may also be indicated if your thigh appearance improves dramatically when you lift the lax skin. The procedure is intended to produce tighter, more attractive thigh and buttock skin with improved contours and decrease irregularities in skin surface. Candidates should also be in good health and have realistic expectations about the potential benefits a thighplasty operation could have for them.

Under general anesthesia, Dr. Ritota first uses liposuction to remove any excess fat in the legs and thighs. Next, the doctor makes small incisions along the upper thigh, stretches the skin, and reattaches it. The incisions are inconspicuous, located in the groin area with scars that are easily hidden by a bathing suit. Finally, small drains are inserted to remove and excess fluid that accumulate within the first day or two postoperatively.
